• Accounting students among top 5 in CPA exam pass rate for third straight year

Tax DayWe’re just about two months from everyone’s favorite time of year: tax season. With income taxes needing to be filed by April 15, studies show about 35 percent of Americans will use an accountant or tax service — many of them CPAs (certified public accountants). If you’re looking for someone to do your taxes this year, why not find a Baylor accountant?

There are plenty of reasons to find a Baylor grad for the job beyond your shared interest in the Green and Gold. Most notably, Baylor accounting grads are prepared; for the third straight year, Baylor graduate students finished among the top 5 in the nation in pass rate on the Uniform Certified Public Accountant exam. In 2006, the group led the nation in pass rate, and in 2007 (the most recent results) Baylor students finished second.

Undergraduate accounting students have also performed well on the exam; their 57.14 percent pass rate for 2007 placed them 16th in the nation among first-time candidates without advanced degrees.

    Sic ’em, Baylor accountants!
