Waco/Baylor among the nation’s most affordable combos for college football fans
If you’re looking to live in an affordable city where you can still easily watch big-time college football, there aren’t many locations better than Waco and Baylor’s Floyd Casey Stadium.
Coldwell Banker studied the average price of what they considered to be a reasonably comfortable family home in the home city for each of the 119 Division I-A football programs. Among Bowl Championship Series (BCS) schools, the Baylor/Waco combination offered the third-most affordable housing in the country.
Tickets to Baylor football games are also among the most budget-friendly in the nation, and easily the most affordable in the Big 12 Conference. Want to see the Longhorns play in Austin? Expect to fork out as much as $90 a ticket. Compare that to Baylor’s prices, where tickets range from $25 to $50 at most, and you’ll see why Baylor games — particularly as the Bears work their way up the Big 12 ladder — are such a great deal.
Just something to think about as you follow the Bears in their final game of the season, Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CST at No. 7 Texas Tech (national telecast on Versus).
Sic ’em, fans of affordable football games!
