Baylor AFROTC named nation’s No. 1 large detachment
In July, we celebrated the 60th birthday of Baylor’s Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) with the news that the group had been named the top large detachment in the region. For Veterans Day, they are celebrating even better news — that the Baylor AFROTC was named the No. 1 large detachment in the nation.
Baylor beat out 144 detachments nationwide to claim the top spot. Among its many selling points, Baylor’s detachment 810 is averaging 22 new officers a year — far above the national average of 15. The group also opened the new AFROTC Living and Learning Center this fall, in which about 40 cadets from freshmen to seniors live together in Kokernot Residence Hall.
Sic ’em, BU AFROTC!
