Miss Black Teen Texas USA also a Baylor freshman

Earlier this summer, we profiled quite a few members of this year’s freshman class (see here and here, for example). But here’s one we missed: the reigning Miss Black Teen Texas USA, Jordan Franklin!

Franklin was given the crown last July after winning the talent and evening gown competitions; she was also named Miss Hospitality and Miss Cover Girl for the year. A graduate of Westfield High School in Houston, Franklin is a medical humanities/pre-med major at Baylor, minoring in Spanish and music. In a press release, she said her goals were to eventually become a plastic surgeon so that she could travel to third world countries and help underprivileged families whose children have suffered various types of birth defects with reconstructive surgery.

Jordan’s honor follows on the heels of another Baylor Bear, Clemea Donaldson, who overcame injuries from an awful auto accident her freshman year at Baylor three years ago to become Miss Black Texas USA 2007.
