Baylor junior on watch list for nation’s top center
We’re less than 100 days from the start of the 2008 football season, and preseason honors are already coming in. Junior J.D. Walton was one of 42 players nationwide named to the Rimington Trophy’s 2008 Spring Watch List. The award is given annually to the nation’s top center.
Walton started every game last fall and was an important part of Baylor’s improved offensive line last year. He and his teammates allowed just 21 sacks, the program’s fewest since 1995, even as the team piled up a school-record 561 pass attempts.
Sic ’em, J.D.!
