That deeeluxe apartment in the sky
About 2,500 new Bears arrived on campus August 14 and 15. The move-in process was as smooth as butter with the 2,000 well-organized volunteer Baylor students, faculty and staff and area church members assisting literally at every turn. As construction workers hustled to place the finishing touches on the exterior of Brooks Village, the new students and volunteers braved Waco’s hottest weather this year to get moved in before noon, avoiding the worst of the heat.
Nearly 4 out of 10 Bears will live on campus this year, up from 29% in 2001, which makes campus life that much more loud and proud! Kudos to everyone who gave their time and sweat to make the freshmen feel at home, and good luck to all you new Bears. We hope you love it here.
Sic ’em, Class of 2011!!!
