• Alum reaches out to students overseas at Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving in EdinburghThough Thanksgiving is behind us now (and Christmas is barely more than week away!), I wanted to share this story I had relayed to me about the Baylor family working together.

Obviously it is cost-prohibitive for most students who are in study abroad programs to come home for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. But Amy Buros and Michael Regan, business majors participating in a Baylor study abroad program in Scotland this fall, did not have to celebrate Thanksgiving alone, thanks to a Baylor alum living in Edinburgh!

Brittany Byrd, a 2006 graduate who now calls Scotland home, invited the students to join her family for Thanksgiving dinner. A simple gesture — what’s two more people when you’ve already got a large gathering? — but one I’m sure was appreciated by the students so far from home. Sic ’em, Baylor family!
