Now, the two East Texans have something else in common &#8212; a kidney, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/sharedcontent\/dws\/dn\/latestnews\/stories\/022609dntexetexlawyers.110f577.html\" target=\"_blank\">donated by Langston to Skelton<\/a> after the latter suffered kidney failure.<\/p>\n<p>Langston, a 2001 Baylor grad, says he simply responded to his colleague&#8217;s need. The transplant took place in mid-February, and two weeks later, Langston is already back at work. <a href=\"http:\/\/sskelton.wordpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Skelton<\/a>, a 1992 graduate, will take a bit longer to get back to normal but is already working on a few cases from an apartment in Dallas, where he is staying to be close to his doctor for follow-up appointments.<\/p>\n<p>The pair plan on working together for one more venture soon; both signed up long ago to be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.donatelifetexas.org\" target=\"_blank\">organ donors<\/a>, but they also want to get the word out about the need for live donation. Langston says the entire waiting list for kidney donors could be taken care of through <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kidney.org\/transplantation\/livingdonors\/infoQA.cfm\" target=\"_blank\">live donation<\/a>, a procedure that requires only willingness and about\u00a0 a week&#8217;s worth of time from the donor.<\/p>\n<p>Sic \u2019em, Scott, Keith, and donors everywhere!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Though they&#8217;ve opposed each other in more than 4,000 cases over the last five years, lawyers Scott Skelton and Keith Langston always had one thing in common: they&#8217;re both Baylor Law graduates.
