{"id":6661,"date":"2011-07-31T20:27:06","date_gmt":"2011-08-01T01:27:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/baylorproud.wpengine.com\/?p=6661"},"modified":"2011-07-31T20:27:06","modified_gmt":"2011-08-01T01:27:06","slug":"documentary-on-childrens-medical-in-dallas-to-feature-baylor-alum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www2.baylor.edu\/baylorproud\/2011\/07\/documentary-on-childrens-medical-in-dallas-to-feature-baylor-alum\/","title":{"rendered":"Documentary on Children&#8217;s Medical in Dallas to feature Baylor alum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.childrens.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Children&#8217;s Medical Center in Dallas<\/a> annually ranks among the best children&#8217;s hospitals in the nation, and if we&#8217;ve learned anything from shows like ER, it&#8217;s that there are stories to be told at every hospital. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">WFAA-TV<\/a> (Channel 8) in Dallas will tell those stories in five 30-minute documentaries beginning this Wednesday &#8212; and one of the featured doctors will be a Baylor alum.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"450\" height=\"253\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vNPO4EyXtaM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.childrens.com\/specialties\/templateStaff.cfm?groupid=4&amp;staffid=1904\" target=\"_blank\">Dr. Patricio Gargollo<\/a>, Baylor class of 1996, you see at the 0:30 mark in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vNPO4EyXtaM\" target=\"_blank\">the above video<\/a>. Gargollo is director of minimally invasive and robotic surgery in pediatric urology at Children&#8217;s, where he has served for the past year. After graduating from Baylor with a degree in biology, Gargollo earned his master&#8217;s from Harvard Medical School, then did residencies at Massachusetts General Hospital and a fellowship at Children&#8217;s Hospital Boston before returning to Texas.<\/p>\n<p>Gargollo&#8217;s wife, Laurie Hurd Gargollo, BA &#8217;96, also appears in the documentary, which will air Aug. 3, 10, 17, 31 and Sept. 7 at 7:30 p.m. on WFAA in Dallas.
