Head coach Kim Mulkey&#8217;s squad enters the year <a href=\"http:\/\/espn.go.com\/womens-college-basketball\/rankings\" target=\"_blank\">ranked No. 2 in the nation in both polls<\/a>, the best preseason ranking in program history. Sophomore Britney Griner will again lead the way for the Lady Bears; the 6-foot-8 post joined <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wnba.com\/playerfile\/sophia_young\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">WNBA star Sophia Young<\/a> as the only Baylor women ever named <a href=\"http:\/\/www.baylorbears.com\/sports\/w-baskbl\/spec-rel\/110210aab.html\" target=\"_blank\">preseason AP All-Americans<\/a>. Griner is also on the <a href=\"http:\/\/onlyfans.cstv.com\/schools\/bay\/sports\/w-baskbl\/spec-rel\/100510aaa.html\" target=\"_blank\">watch list for the Wooden Award<\/a> and is joined by senior Melissa Jones on <a href=\"http:\/\/onlyfans.cstv.com\/schools\/bay\/sports\/w-baskbl\/spec-rel\/110910aaa.html\" target=\"_blank\">the Naismith Award watch list<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>At 8:30 p.m. Friday, head coach Scott Drew&#8217;s men will take the court against Grambling State. The men are ranked <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/sports\/college\/mensbasketball\/2010-10-28-associated-press-top-25-poll_N.htm?csp=34sports&amp;utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+UsatodaycomSports-TopStories+%28Sports+-+Top+Stories%29\" target=\"_blank\">14th in the preseason ESPN\/<em>USA Today<\/em> poll<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/sports.espn.go.com\/ncb\/news\/story?id=5711887\" target=\"_blank\">16th in the AP Top 25<\/a>; never before has the team begun a season ranked by either group. Though two-thirds of Baylor&#8217;s roster returns from last year, the big name to watch this weekend is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.baylorbears.com\/sports\/m-baskbl\/mtt\/jonesiii_perry00.html\" target=\"_blank\">freshman Perry Jones III<\/a>. (Yes, PJ3; that&#8217;s him at right.) Jones, a consensus top-10 recruit nationally, is the highest-rated recruit ever to sign with the program and is expected to help fill the shoes of <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.baylor.edu\/2010\/06\/bears-udoh-the-no-6-overall-pick-in-2010-nba-draft\/\" target=\"_blank\">departed NBA first-round pick Ekpe Udoh<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Season tickets are still available for both <a href=\"http:\/\/www.baylorbears.com\/sports\/m-baskbl\/spec-rel\/tickets.html\" target=\"_blank\">the men<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.baylorbears.com\/sports\/w-baskbl\/spec-rel\/tickets.html\" target=\"_blank\">women<\/a>; this looks to be another historic season for both programs.
