As head coach Scott Drew said, &#8220;We wanted to watch this with our family, and you [the fans] are our family.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The CBS announcers went spot by spot, team by team, through nearly the entire 65-team bracket without calling Baylor&#8217;s name. In the end, it came down to the final unannounced spot. With one place remaining, nervous clapping and cheers echoed through the Ferrell Center, erupting into furious shouts of joy when &#8220;Baylor&#8221; went up on the screens.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve put together <a href=\"http:\/\/bearspace.baylor.edu\/Group_BaylorProud\/www\/galleries\/MBKB-NCAA-selection08\/\" target=\"_blank\">this photo gallery<\/a> to share the experience, and at least one fan has uploaded <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=W6F1UkDi_Yk\" target=\"_blank\">a video of the announcement<\/a> on YouTube. Check it out &#8212; it still gives me chills. <a href=\"http:\/\/baylorbears.cstv.com\/view.gal?id=24464&amp;template=player_gallery\" target=\"_blank\">BaylorBears.com<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wacotrib.com\/baylor\/mediahub\/media\/slideshow\/index.jsp?tId=92794\" target=\"_blank\">Waco Tribune-Herald<\/a> each have short photo galleries, too.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m proud for <a href=\"http:\/\/homepages.baylor.edu\/baylorproud\/2008\/03\/06\/basketball-seniors-honored-baylor-with-excellence-and-class\/\" target=\"_blank\">the seniors<\/a>, who chose Baylor when their friends questioned why. I&#8217;m proud for Coach Drew, who made the same choice despite those who scratched their head at his move.
