{"id":3208,"date":"2010-03-31T09:08:06","date_gmt":"2010-03-31T14:08:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/baylorproud.wpengine.com\/?p=3208"},"modified":"2010-03-31T09:08:06","modified_gmt":"2010-03-31T14:08:06","slug":"nsf-awards-baylor-nearly-400000-grant-to-study-faith-in-entrepreneurship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www2.baylor.edu\/baylorproud\/2010\/03\/nsf-awards-baylor-nearly-400000-grant-to-study-faith-in-entrepreneurship\/","title":{"rendered":"NSF awards Baylor nearly $400,000 grant to study faith in entrepreneurship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" title=\"nsf-mar10\" src=\"https:\/\/www2.baylor.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/nsf-mar10.jpg\" alt=\"National Science Foundation\" width=\"225\" height=\"226\" \/>For years, Reese&#8217;s Peanut Butter Cups have been advertised as &#8220;two great tastes that taste great together.&#8221; The same could be said of a new Baylor research project that over the next three years will <a href=\"http:\/\/www.baylor.edu\/business\/news.php?action=story&amp;story=68889\" target=\"_blank\">examine the impact of religious communities on entrepreneurial behavior<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>After all, in Baylor you have one of the world&#8217;s foremost Christian universities, and in Baylor&#8217;s Hankamer School of Business you have <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.baylor.edu\/2009\/09\/accounting-entrepreneurship-programs-again-among-nations-best\/\" target=\"_blank\">one of the nation&#8217;s top entrepreneurship programs<\/a>, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.baylor.edu\/2010\/02\/business-prof-receives-lifetime-achievement-award-from-peers\/\" target=\"_blank\">well-recognized<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.baylor.edu\/2008\/02\/baylor-prof-named-national-entrepreneurship-teacher-of-the-year\/\" target=\"_blank\">professors<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.baylor.edu\/2009\/11\/former-football-letterman-regent-honored-as-entrepreneur-of-the-year\/\" target=\"_blank\">successful<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.baylor.edu\/2009\/04\/business-school-among-nations-top-10-in-three-categories\/\" target=\"_blank\">alumni<\/a>. It only makes sense that this would be the place to study the role of faith in entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nsf.gov\" target=\"_blank\">National Science Foundation<\/a> apparently agrees, having <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nsf.gov\/awardsearch\/showAward.do?AwardNumber=0925907&amp;WT.z_pims_id=5378\" target=\"_blank\">awarded a nearly $400,000 grant to Baylor<\/a> for this study, which will be headed up by business professor Mitchell Neubert and sociology professors Kevin Dougherty and Jerry Park.
