He went on to produce the critically acclaimed <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0156812\/\" target=\"_blank\">My Dog Skip<\/a><\/em> before finding widespread recognition as director of <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0265662\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Rookie<\/a><\/em>, which won <a href=\"http:\/\/espn.go.com\/espy2002\/s\/2001besmovienominees.html\" target=\"_blank\">an ESPY in 2002<\/a> for &#8220;Best Sports Movie.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/sharedcontent\/dws\/ent\/stories\/DN-hancock_1115gd.ART.State.Edition1.4b8807a.html\" target=\"_blank\">Hancock has returned to sports<\/a> for his latest film, <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0878804\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Blind Side<\/a><\/em>, which opens today. The movie stars Sandra Bullock and is based on the true story of a homeless teenager who, after being taken in by a new family, fulfills his potential on the football field, earning a college scholarship and eventually making the NFL.
