With the opening of the Hurd Welcome Center in 2023, the event &#8212; presented by Pi Beta Phi and Baylor University &#8212; has evolved into a Friday night block party outside the Hurd, anchored each year by a concert from an up-and-coming country artist.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/shorts\/8VmL36W6FOg\">This year&#8217;s event<\/a> featured line dancing, food trucks, a Ferris wheel, cornhole and more on Friday night, topped off with a concert by CMA New Artist of the Year nominee <a href=\"https:\/\/concerts.web.baylor.edu\/event\/2026\/1548453\">Carter Faith<\/a>. (Faith followed in the footsteps of such other recent Howdy performers as Bailey Zimmerman and Ty Myers.)<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"(It&amp;apos;s) HOWDY, y&amp;apos;all! \ud83e\udd20\ud83d\udc3b\ud83e\udd20\" width=\"563\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/8VmL36W6FOg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>As a bonus, the weekend also featured a second free country concert, with local legend <a href=\"https:\/\/concerts.web.baylor.edu\/event\/2026\/pat-green-concert-backyard-live\">Pat Green<\/a> following Baylor football&#8217;s win over Colorado with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/BaylorUniversity1845\/posts\/pfbid0w9k7nJ2RoDTB1ZXRd7r2zVM8GjEB1UwBSSKzMY53JzAGFQujLvAQNeaz4iGAUqbAl\">a show<\/a> outside McLane Stadium as part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/news.web.baylor.edu\/news\/story\/2026\/pat-green-headline-sept-26-baylor-backyard-live-concert\">Baylor Backyard Live<\/a> series.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FBaylorUniversity1845%2Fposts%2Fpfbid0w9k7nJ2RoDTB1ZXRd7r2zVM8GjEB1UwBSSKzMY53JzAGFQujLvAQNeaz4iGAUqbAl&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"691\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>And more great music is on the way: This Friday, rising classic country star <a href=\"https:\/\/concerts.web.baylor.edu\/event\/2026\/1547733\">Braxton Keith<\/a> plays Foster Pavilion, followed Oct. 22 by indie rock band <a href=\"https:\/\/concerts.web.baylor.edu\/event\/2026\/1554246\">Mt. Joy<\/a>. Next spring&#8217;s lineup includes m\u00fasica norte\u00f1a artists <a href=\"https:\/\/concerts.web.baylor.edu\/event\/2027\/1546241\">La Fiera de Ojinaga &amp; Los Pescadores del R\u00edo Conchos<\/a> (April 11) and legendary Christian rockers <a href=\"https:\/\/concerts.web.baylor.edu\/event\/2027\/1554578\">Third Day<\/a> (April 22).
