\"Cameron<\/p>\n

All year long, Cameron Carr<\/a> was Baylor Men\u2019s Basketball\u2019s most electric and reliable scorer, and last night he was rewarded for that productivity — with a first-round selection in the 2026 NBA Draft<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Carr was selected by the New York Knicks with the 24th overall pick<\/a>, but he\u2019ll play for the Los Angeles Lakers; reports have him going to Los Angeles<\/a> via a trade which would become official when the new league year officially begins July 1.<\/p>\n

Carr continues an impressive streak of Baylor first-round picks<\/a>: six consecutive years now, dating back to 2021. Head coach Scott Drew has now produced 16 of Baylor\u2019s 29 all-time draft picks, including 10 of Baylor\u2019s 13 first-round picks coming since 2010.<\/p>\n

Carr more than earned the nod with an impressive season that saw him lead the Bears with nearly 19 points per game, along with nearly 6 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. His 642 points were the most ever by a Baylor sophomore, and fifth-best in program history in single-season scoring. He was named to the Big 12 All-Newcomer Team<\/a> and was a third-team All-Big 12 selection<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As he follows the path taken by previous Baylor first-round picks, he also follows in his father\u2019s footsteps. Carr’s dad, Chris<\/a>, spent six seasons in the NBA from 1995-2001, famously finishing second to Kobe Bryant in the 1997 Slam Dunk Contest<\/a>.<\/p>\n
