When it comes to preparing compassionate leaders in maternal and newborn care, Baylor’s Louise Herrington School of Nursing<\/a> continues to set the standard — and that’s being noticed on the national level.<\/p>\n

This spring, LHSON’s online Doctor of Nursing Practice nurse-midwifery program<\/a> jumped six spots in U.S. News’<\/em> latest rankings, all the way to No. 16 in the nation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The recognition reflects a curriculum intentionally built to bridge classroom learning with real-world practice. At LHSON, nurse-midwifery students move quickly from theory to hands-on experience, working alongside experienced clinicians in hospitals, birth centers, and community health settings. That immersive approach helps students develop the confidence and clinical judgment needed to support women through pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum care.<\/p>\n

The result: graduates who are confident, compassionate, and ready to lead in a field where the demand for skilled midwives continues to grow.<\/p>\n

This isn’t the first such honor for the program, either; earlier this year, it was named the No. 1 certified nurse midwife program<\/a> by nurse.org.
