All year long, the Baylor Softball<\/a> team challenged themselves by playing one of the nation\u2019s toughest schedules, and they were rewarded for that effort by once again earning a selection into the NCAA Tournament<\/a> — the program’s 17th in 23 seasons!<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Baylor squad was led by senior shortstop Amber Toven and All-Big 12 honorees<\/a> Brooklyn Carter and Kaygen Marshall. Toven led the team with a .351 batting average and drove in a team-high 47 runs. Carter earned a spot on the All-Big 12 Defensive Team, while the Bears\u2019 leading home run hitter, Kaygen Marshall, was named to the All-Big 12 Freshmen team. Marshall was one of just five freshmen in Glenn Moore\u2019s 26 seasons as head coach to reach double-digit homers.<\/p>\n

Baylor played the nation\u2019s 10th-toughest schedule this year in a Big 12 Conference that was as rated as the second-most challenging in college softball this year. Among Baylor\u2019s signature wins this year was a series victory at No. 22 UCF and a dramatic come-from-behind win at No. 2 Texas Tech in the regular season\u2019s final home series. Along the way, Moore reached the 1,100-win mark as a head coach; he now ranks among the top 10 active head coaches in career wins. He has led the Bears to all 17 tournament appearances in the program\u2019s history.<\/p>\n

This weekend, Baylor heads south for the NCAA Austin Regional, where the Bears will face Wisconsin Friday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. The winner advances to take on Wagner or No. 2 national seed Texas; if you can’t make it to Austin, all games this weekend will be televised on ESPN+.<\/p>\n
