After years at universities like Texas A&amp;M, Houston, and Emory, he chose to come to Baylor this summer as <a href=\"https:\/\/news.web.baylor.edu\/news\/story\/2023\/baylor-appoints-felipe-hinojosa-phd-inaugural-jackson-family-chair-baylor-latin\">the first Jackson Family Chair for Baylor in Latin America<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I\u2019m looking forward to joining conversations at Baylor that cross disciplinary borders and help us think collectively and critically about important questions on immigration, race, citizenship, politics and religion,&#8221; Hinojosa said this summer.<\/p>\n<p>Faith, community and ethnicity have been key parts of Hinojosa\u2019s work. He\u2019s the author of two books, with another on the way, and numerous academic articles and collections alongside his academic leadership.<\/p>\n<p>Hinojosa joins the faculty in Baylor\u2019s history department, but his impact will extend across and beyond campus. He\u2019ll build on his most recent work at Texas A&amp;M, where he served as professor of history, assistant provost for Hispanic Serving Institution initiatives and director for the Carlos H. Cantu Hispanic Education &amp; Opportunity Endowment.
