The demographics of social media are interesting. When it comes to Baylor’s accounts, for instance, you’ll find mostly parents and alumni engaged on Facebook<\/a>, young professionals above all on Twitter<\/a>, and current students mixed with recent graduates on Instagram<\/a>.<\/p>\n But there’s an up-and-coming audience that isn’t necessarily active on any of those platforms: prospective students.<\/p>\n If you have a Gen Z-er (ages 5-25) or young Millennial (22-38 years old) in your life, you’ve likely heard of the latest major social media platform: TikTok. It\u2019s marked by short videos that often feature dancing, lip-syncing, and\/or comedy. The app has particularly jumped in popularity during COVID quarantine, as people of all ages — stuck inside with not enough to do — found entertainment on the platform.<\/p>\n But even with that recent growth, an overwhelming majority of TikTok users remain part of Gen Z, as the social media platform has become a daily source of communication and entertainment in their lives.
