From Nov. 15 until Feb. 22 &#8212; more than three months &#8212; head coach Scott Drew&#8217;s squad met its objective of winning the game in front of them each time, including <a href=\"https:\/\/baylorbears.com\/sports\/mens-basketball\/schedule\">six wins over ranked teams<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/baylorbears.com\/news\/2020\/1\/11\/mens-basketball-no-4-mbb-secures-first-ever-win-at-allen-fieldhouse-over-no-3-kansas.aspx\">their first-ever victory at Allen Fieldhouse<\/a>. It was an impressive run that, even as the Bears now begin a new winning streak, has historically foreshadowed great things for Baylor teams.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, the Baylor men are not the only team on campus to own a Big 12-record winning streak; Baylor women&#8217;s basketball, baseball and men\u2019s tennis can all claim the same honor, and in each case thus far, the teams&#8217; record runs have been just one of many highlights for each squad.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to this year&#8217;s men&#8217;s basketball team, meet the other Baylor teams that own the Big 12\u2019s longest winning streaks:<\/p>\n<p><strong>* Women\u2019s Basketball &#8212;<\/strong> From 2011-13, the Lady Bears won 42 straight games &#8212; the longest winning streak in Big 12 women&#8217;s basketball history, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/herosports.com\/college-basketball\/11-longest-winning-streaks-d1-womens-college-basketball-history-awaw\">seventh longest in NCAA women&#8217;s basketball history<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The bulk of that run came in 2011-12, as the Lady Bears became the first NCAA basketball team (men&#8217;s or women&#8217;s) ever to go 40-0 in a season. Led by Lady Bear legends Brittney Griner and Odyssey Sims, the winning streak carried head coach Kim Mulkey&#8217;s team to <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.baylor.edu\/baylorproud\/2013\/02\/lady-bears-celebrate-third-straight-big-12-title-by-beating-no-2-uconn-on-the-road\/\">Big 12 regular season<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.baylor.edu\/baylorproud\/2013\/03\/lady-bears-sweep-big-12-regular-season-tournament-titles-for-third-straight-year\/\">tournament titles<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.baylor.edu\/baylorproud\/2012\/04\/lady-bears-claim-2011-12-ncaa-championship\/\">the program\u2019s second national championship<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-22333\" src=\"https:\/\/www2.baylor.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/wbb12-feb20.jpg\" alt=\"2011-12 Lady Bears pose with the national championship trophy\" width=\"500\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www2.baylor.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/wbb12-feb20.jpg 1600w, https:\/\/www2.baylor.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/wbb12-feb20-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www2.baylor.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/wbb12-feb20-1024x512.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www2.baylor.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/wbb12-feb20-768x384.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www2.baylor.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/wbb12-feb20-1536x768.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>* Baseball &#8212;<\/strong> The 2012 Baylor baseball team\u2019s season began innocently enough, as the Bears went just 11-7 in their first 18 games. Then, starting with a three-game sweep of Texas Tech, the Bears won and continued to win &#8212; <a href=\"https:\/\/baylorbears.com\/news\/2012\/4\/22\/Brazos_Broom_Baseball_Completes_Sweep_of_A_amp_M.aspx\">a Big 12-record 24 straight victories<\/a>, led by <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.baylor.edu\/baylorproud\/2018\/10\/former-baylor-star-helps-lead-dodgers-back-to-world-series\/\">current Los Angeles Dodgers star Max Muncy<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wacotrib.com\/sports\/college\/baylor\/good-luck-beaver-becoming-baylor-baseball-phenomenon\/article_ce6c6cdc-dec6-541f-aabf-059e050daf3b.html\">a Brazos River beaver<\/a> whose appearance brought the team luck.<\/p>\n<p>Buoyed by that streak, Baylor went on to <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.baylor.edu\/baylorproud\/2012\/06\/big-12-conference-baseball-champions-season-ends-in-super-regional\/\">win the program\u2019s third Big 12 title<\/a> and fall just two outs shy of a fourth College World Series appearance.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-9402 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www2.baylor.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/bb-b12champ-june12.jpg\" alt=\"2012 Big 12 baseball champion Baylor\" width=\"500\" height=\"257\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>* Men\u2019s Tennis &#8212;<\/strong> Baylor\u2019s men\u2019s tennis team put together a history-making run in 2004-05, winning an incredible 57 matches in a row &#8212; the most in Big 12 history, and the second longest in NCAA men&#8217;s tennis history.<\/p>\n<p>The 2004 squad won its last 24 matches, all the way through to the NCAA national championship &#8212; <a href=\"https:\/\/baylorbears.com\/news\/2004\/5\/25\/Men_s_Tennis_Claims_Baylor_s_First_Team_National_Championship.aspx\">the first NCAA team title in Baylor history<\/a>.
