Headed into the Allstate Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day (7:45 p.m. CT, ESPN), Baylor football is ranked in the top 10 nationally in every major poll<\/a> (7th in the College Football Playoff rankings, and 8th in both the AP and coaches polls).<\/p>\n

Of course, top-10 programs are not a new phenomenon at Baylor. Just among active sports, you’ve got volleyball finishing the year ranked No. 3 in the nation<\/a>, women’s basketball ranked 6th<\/a>, men’s basketball ranked 7th<\/a>, and equestrian ranked 9th<\/a>. And that doesn’t include spring sports like Baylor acrobatics and tumbling, which has won five straight national titles<\/a>, or men’s tennis, which finished 6th in the nation<\/a> this past spring.<\/p>\n

And there are plenty of top-10 ranked programs at Baylor outside of athletics, as well:<\/p>\n
