Every year, U.S. News unveils to the world its annual ranking of American colleges and universities. Last fall, they named Baylor No. 78 in the U.S.<\/a>, as well as a Best Value School<\/a>.<\/p>\n Such rankings are typically based on undergraduate education, which has long been Baylor\u2019s bread and butter. But for those pursuing master\u2019s and doctoral degrees, there\u2019s another important U.S. News ranking: its \u201cBest Graduate Schools 2020\u201d guidebook<\/a>, released in March. Here\u2019s a quick look at how some of Baylor’s graduate programs fared in the latest rankings:<\/p>\n Other top-100 rankings: Baylor Law’s legal writing program (debuting at No. 53); the Hankamer School of Business (up to No. 57); graduate programs in the Diana R. Garland School of Social Work (up to No. 59); the Master\u2019s of Public Health (MPH) degree programs with specialization in community health<\/a> (debuted at No. 62); Baylor’s online MBA program (No. 73); statistics<\/a> (No. 83);\u00a0biology<\/a> (No. 85); sociology<\/a> (No. 87); chemistry<\/a> (No. 88); psychology<\/a> (No. 98); and earth sciences<\/a> (No. 99).<\/p>\n U.S. News bases its rankings on two types of data: expert opinions about the programs, and statistics that measure the quality of a school\u2019s faculty, research and students.
