Baylor’s 16-student delegation was named Overall Outstanding Delegation, their second such honor ever. Six of the eight committees in which Baylor students participated were named Outstanding Delegation in Committee, breaking the team’s previous record of four (set just last year).

At the AMUN Conference, Baylor students represented the neighboring African nations of South Africa and Lesotho, studying and addressing a wide variety of societal issues such as education for democracy, women in development, and international cooperation to address the world drug problem. At the conference, committees presented their findings to the entire body of more than 1,300 students from across the nation to seek international consensus.

As Baylor implements Illuminate, the university’s academic strategic plan that aims to expand the ways Baylor students and faculty collaborate to address the world’s most challenging issues, it’s clear that many of those students and faculty have helped set a foundation for excellence in these areas. For Baylor Model UN students, collaborating to address global problems is something they’ve done, and continue to do, with excellence on their biggest national stages.

Sic ’em, Baylor Model United Nations!

In recent years, Baylor’s Model United Nations team has won top team honors and an avalanche of individual team member awards at national Model UN conferences across the country.
