Baylor\u2019s Model United Nations<\/a>\u00a0broke a team record last month for the most awards received at the National Model United Nations Conference. Out of the nearly 3,000 student participants, the Baylor team of 16 students was named overall \u201cOutstanding Delegation\u201d<\/a> — the conference\u2019s highest possible team recognition award \u2013 and several team members won individual awards themselves.<\/p>\n For this conference, the Baylor team played the role of representing Iceland. They studied the country\u2019s diplomatic stance, learning about the challenges the international community faces as it attempts to solve some of the most pressing contemporary issues in global security, human rights, development and sustainability.<\/p>\n In addition to the team awards, Baylor team members earned the highest individual award (\u201cOutstanding Delegation in Committee\u201d) from fellow participants in five of the eight committees in which they participated.
