Maybe philosopher Will Durant wasn\u2019t talking about Baylor Law School<\/a> when he famously wrote, \u201cWe are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.\u201d But he certainly could have been, as Baylor Law students have consistently demonstrated the truthfulness of that adage.<\/p>\n The State of Texas administers its bar exam for lawyers twice each year, and when the most recent results were revealed following the July 2017 test,\u00a0Baylor once again led all Texas law schools<\/a> with the highest percentage of students who passed.<\/p>\n Just how much of a habit is that sort of excellence?<\/p>\n Baylor also led the state back in February,\u00a0giving Baylor Law a clean sweep in 2017. Going all the way back to 2001, Baylor has led the state in pass rate 21 out of a possible 33 times<\/em>. For context, Texas and Texas Tech are tied for second on that list, having led the state four times each in that span.<\/p>\n Baylor Law School\u2019s habits of excellence can be found in the incredible students who are part of the program — students like Allison Dickson<\/a>, JD ’07 and Stephen Carl<\/a>, just to name two. Baylor Law students are known for their\u00a0sense of mission and focus on serving others<\/a>, values that are shared by the many\u00a0outstanding professors who have also been recognized for both their service<\/a> and their excellent teaching<\/a>. So, it\u2019s no surprise that these sorts of results have become commonplace. Tops in the state?
