“I\u2019m very passionate about joining the military. My dad was in the Air Force, and I\u2019ve seen all of the benefits that he\u2019s been able to have and how he\u2019s passed them along to us.<\/p>\n

“I moved around a lot, and I got to meet a lot of different people. I\u2019m a very social person, so me being able to see all these new people and all these new things was cool to me. Then he would be out in his uniform and people would say \u2018Thank you for your service.\u2019 I thought that was always so cool. Whenever people would talk about Veterans Day, I would think of my dad like, \u2018Wow, he\u2019s a part of this big group of people who are helping!\u2019<\/p>\n

“The best thing going on in my life is just starting college, honestly. … My mom was like, \u2018Bye! I\u2019ll miss you, but, bye!\u2019 My dad, my dad took it pretty hard. He was very upset about me leaving, but at the same time, \u2018I\u2019m proud. I know I have to let you go.\u2019 But me and him are super-duper close. He was like, \u2018You\u2019re my little girl\u2026\u2019 He took it kind of hard.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m in ROTC, which is why I\u2019m wearing all of this — it\u2019s required of us. But I have picked up his habits with things. I\u2019m always places early. Out of all of my friends, I\u2019m the neatest out of everybody. Everything has a place.”<\/p>\n
