As Baylor football begins preseason drills today<\/a>, members of the national media are continuing to pick up on the optimism surrounding the Bears’ program. Following a surge of positive coverage<\/a> this spring, the current issue of ESPN The Magazine<\/em><\/a> includes an excellent four-page feature on how head coach Art Briles has led Baylor football forward. (Those with a subscription to ESPN Insider can read the article online<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

As the article notes, there’s plenty to be excited about. Four Bears earned Preseason All-Big 12 honors<\/a> from the league’s coaches, not including quarterback Robert Griffin, who was named Monday to the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award Watch List<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Bears kick off the season one month from today at Wake Forest in a nationally televised match-up<\/a>. Season tickets are on sale now<\/a>, as are tickets for the Baylor-Texas Tech game<\/a> to be played in November at the new Cowboys Stadium. (Individual game tickets go on sale next week.) Get ’em while you can!<\/p>\n
