For the second time in four years, the Baylor Round Up<\/em> has been named the best collegiate yearbook in the nation<\/a> — and that was just one of a host of honors won by Baylor journalism<\/a> students in recent competitions.<\/p>\n

The Round Up<\/em>‘s<\/a> recognition came from the Associated College Press (ACP) at the organization’s annual conference last\u00a0month in Washington, D.C. After claiming top honors in 2013, the Baylor yearbook staff\u00a0again brought home the first-place award for 2016’s annual.<\/p>\n

All three major\u00a0Baylor student-run publications were ranked in the top 10<\/a> of their respective categories by the\u00a0ACP. The Baylor Lariat<\/a><\/em> placed fourth among daily newspapers at four-year schools, while\u00a0Focus<\/em> magazine<\/a>\u00a0ranked eighth among feature magazines.<\/p>\n

In other competitions this year,\u00a0Lariat TV News earned its first\u00a0Emmy<\/a> from the Lone Star Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences; the websites for the Lariat and Focus websites were each named the best of their kind<\/a> in the nation by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association; and the Lariat’s smartphone app was named App of the Year<\/a> by the College Media Association. And that doesn’t even begin to get into all the individual honors Baylor students and their works have earned.<\/p>\n
