Before you guess, take into consideration all the Greek organizations and professional societies Baylor offers. Then start thinking outside the box a little bit; if you’re\u00a0a Baylor student with an interest in sailing, there\u2019s a club for that. If you’re from the North African country of Eritrea looking to meet students from your home country, there\u2019s a club for that, too. There are also student organizations that serve the community by working with at-risk youth, host Bible studies, participate in taekwondo, and bring together students interested in studying the plastics that protect us in cars and airplanes.<\/p>\n
Even that only gives you a small taste of the scope of clubs overseen\u00a0by Baylor Student Activities<\/a>. So, now what\u2019s your answer?<\/p>\n Believe it or not, more than 9,000 Baylor students — nearly 60% of Baylor undergraduate and graduate students — participate in the university’s 350+ student organizations<\/a> that are increasingly becoming an integral part of the Baylor student experience. Five years ago, Baylor Student Activities streamlined the process for students to start a university-approved club so that more\u00a0great ideas could become reality. Since then, the number of students participating in student organizations has doubled.<\/p>\n Here\u2019s just a small sampling of what\u2019s available beyond Greek organizations and club sports:<\/p>\n Baylor Aviation ||\u00a0Baylor Quidditch Association ||\u00a0Baylor Sailing Club ||\u00a0Baylor Swing Dance Society ||\u00a0Baylor Theme Park Engineering and Design ||\u00a0Bears For Orphans ||\u00a0Christian Business Leaders ||\u00a0India Subcontinent Student Association || Literary Society ||\u00a0Logistics, Procurement and Supply Chain Association ||\u00a0Meals & Wheels Volunteers ||\u00a0National Association of Black Journalists ||\u00a0Super Smash Brothers Club ||\u00a0Society of Plastics Engineers ||\u00a0Special Olympics Club ||\u00a0Women in Mathematics<\/em><\/p>\n [SEE the full list of Baylor student organizations.<\/a>]<\/strong><\/p>\n In other words, there\u2019s something for everyone — and that\u2019s the point.<\/p>\n \u201cWe want every Baylor student to have a place they call home,\u201d Student Activities Director Matt Burchett says. \u201cStudent organizations strengthen the culture and community we\u2019re building; we want every student to have a place that makes them feel like Baylor is \u2018their Baylor,\u2019 and student organizations provide that home, a place to plug in, for many students.\u201d<\/p>\n So, there\u2019s no excuse for a Baylor student not to find a club that meets his or her passions and interests.
