It wasn\u2019t that long ago that Chris Charles Scott<\/a>, BA \u201904, might never have imagined the words \u201caward-winning director\u201d being used to describe him. After all, he had\u00a0only begun to\u00a0dabble in filmmaking two years ago when he was invited to join a production team making a documentary about the history of Shreveport, La.<\/p>\n

Scott directed The Shape of Shreveport<\/em>, a multi-part documentary telling the stories that shaped the city\u2019s history, and the project proved far more successful than anyone initially imagined. Earlier this year, The Shape of Shreveport<\/em> was named Documentary of the Year<\/a> by the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities<\/a>; the organization’s director praised the “innovative way” that the series told the\u00a0community’s history.<\/p>\n
