One night\u00a0after the\u00a0nation\u2019s attention was focused on the polling booths for Super Tuesday,\u00a0Baylor and President Ken Starr welcomed\u00a0one of America\u2019s most prominent political commentators, David Brooks, for an “On Topic” discussion<\/a> in front of\u00a0a packed Waco Hall audience.\u00a0[See photos from the event here.<\/a>]<\/p>\n Naturally, Brooks — known for\u00a0his political pieces in The New York Times<\/em> and appearances on NPR\u2019s \u201cAll Things Considered\u201d — began the evening discussing the results of Super Tuesday and where he believes America\u2019s political landscape is headed. Throughout the rest of the evening, he covered such topics\u00a0as\u00a0religion, the Syrian refugee crisis and social media.<\/p>\n [WATCH the entire \u201cOn Topic\u201d conversation with David Brooks<\/a>]<\/strong><\/p>\n In closing, Brooks shared a few words of advice for Baylor students. \u201cThe thing that you\u2019ll remember the most from here is your friends,\u201d he said. \u201cSo invest heavily in your friends. … There will be moments of unemployment, moments of romantic breakdown.
