So we’ve whittled it down to the 6 most important things to do during your visit:

1. Learn the basics of Baylor history. We’re proud of our traditions and heritage. Keep your eyes open for official historical markers all over campus that help tell the university’s 170+ year history. After all, Baylor was founded in 1845 by the Republic of Texas, making it the oldest continually operating university in Texas. You’ll better appreciate the Baylor you see today if you have a handle on where we’ve been.

2. See McLane Stadium. Admit it — you’ve been dying to see Baylor football’s new home since the first renderings came out. Our advice is to walk across the Sheila and Walter Umphrey Bridge to the stadium from the main campus, so that you can really take it in in all its riverfront glory. Whether you start your day at the stadium or wait until it’s lit up with the backdrop of a Texas sunset, you won’t regret stopping by.

3. Take your picture with Judge Baylor. And in front of Pat Neff Hall. And at the Pyfer bear sculpture by the Student Life Center (SLC), and the entrance sign, and on a green and gold swinging bench… You get the idea. Bonus points for taking the picture in the same spot years later.

4. Schedule an official campus tour. Sure, it’s the obvious move, but Campus Visits offers more than just a guided tour; they can also help arrange a meeting with a professor in your area of interest, show you around our residence halls, and connect you with an admissions counselor.

5. Cool off at the BSB fountains. This is just one of the hundreds of items on the Baylor Bucket List – why not get a head start? If you’re visiting during spring or summer, this will be a welcome relief. If any other time of year, well… Godspeed.

6. Explore Waco. At some point in the day, you’re bound to be hungry; if you don’t eat at one of Baylor’s dining options, definitely try a Waco favorite. If you have some extra time, spend it at Cameron Park, the nearby zoo, the Waco Mammoth Site, the Dr Pepper Museum, or historic downtown (where, for our Fixer Upper fans, you’ll see the new location of Magnolia Homes).

Check off those six things, and you’ll have a solid idea of what it’s like to attend this university — and why thousands have chosen to be a Baylor Bear.

Sic ’em, Baylor visitors!

[Are we missing something? Let us know!]

Whether you’re a high school student considering Baylor for college or an alumnus who hasn’t been on campus in a few years, here’s the truth: You need to visit Baylor.
