Football players — particularly those who have played at the highest levels — know the importance of good medical care. Thus, it comes as no surprise that so many NFL stars turned out to support Baylor’s Louise Herrington School of Nursing<\/a>‘s “Going for the Gold Gala<\/a>” last week in Dallas.<\/p>\n

Former Baylor and\u00a0NFL standouts Robert Griffin III (BA ’10), Mike Singletary\u00a0(BBA ’83)\u00a0and Neal Jeffrey (BBA ’75)\u00a0were joined at the gala by NFL Hall of Famer\u00a0Tim Brown, whose son graduated from Baylor in December and is now a nurse at Children’s Medical Center Dallas.\u00a0Deb Carson, BBA ’88, a national sports anchor for Fox Sports Radio, emceed the event, at which a crowd of more than 900 guests heard each star speak\u00a0of the importance of having quality nurses.<\/p>\n

All told, the gala\u00a0raised more than $1.5 million to support Baylor nursing scholarships and other needs.<\/p>\n
