So what&#8217;s a Baylor home without a selection of Baylor books?<\/p>\n<p>Below are 7 books that should be on every Bear&#8217;s shelf, followed by a host of &#8220;honorable mentions&#8221; for those who really want to dig deep.<\/p>\n<p><strong>*\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Light-Ways-Time-Illustrated-University\/dp\/0933335067\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">To Light The Ways of Time<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, by Eugene Baker: A definitive chronicle\u00a0of Baylor&#8217;s first 140 years, with hundreds of photos across 320 pages of green-and-gold history up to 1986.<\/p>\n<p><strong>*\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/History-Baylor-Sports-Alan-Lefever\/dp\/1602584001\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The History of Baylor Sports<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, by Alan Lefever:\u00a0Published in 2013, it begins with the earliest days of intercollegiate athletics and works sport by sport through each of Baylor&#8217;s varsity programs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>* <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.baylorpress.com\/Book\/142\/The_Immortal_Ten.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Immortal Ten<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, by Todd Copeland: Baylor students learn\u00a0of their lost brethren each year during Mass Meeting, but Copeland&#8217;s book dives much deeper into the lives of\u00a0these 10 Baylor students who tragically lost their lives in 1927.<\/p>\n<p><strong>*\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Believe-Grant-Teaff-Sam-Blair\/dp\/B0011TXBUA\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">I Believe<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, by Grant Teaff: One of six books written (so far) by Baylor&#8217;s winningest football coach, this 1976 publication tells the story of the 1974 Bears, Baylor&#8217;s first conference championship\u00a0team in 50 years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>* <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.baylorpress.com\/en\/Book\/356\/1,_2,_3_Baylor.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1, 2, 3 Baylor: A Little Bear Counting Book<\/a><\/em><\/strong>:\u00a0This board book uses familiar Baylor images (rendered in a wonderfully cute fashion\u00a0by Matt Wiede, BFA &#8217;02) to teach young children simple counting from 1 to 10.<\/p>\n<p><strong>* <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.soldierswoodencross.info\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Soldiers of the Wooden Cross<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, by Frank Jasek, BBA &#8217;73: A 15-year labor of love, this 323-page\u00a0work uses family photos, handwritten letters, old newspaper articles and more to tell the story of each of the Baylor veterans killed in service who are honored on the campus&#8217;
