But I had no idea just how many groups around Waco are dedicated to tackling the issue until I saw <a href=\"http:\/\/www.baylormag.com\/story.php?story=006279\" target=\"_blank\">this story<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.baylormag.com\/story.php?story=006308\" target=\"_blank\">related sidebars<\/a> in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.baylormag.com\/issue.php?issueid=000032\" target=\"_blank\">latest issue of <em>Baylor Magazine<\/em><\/a> (hitting homes this week).<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve covered some of the groups here before: the <a href=\"http:\/\/homepages.baylor.edu\/baylorproud\/2009\/03\/13\/baylor-students-recognized-among-nations-leaders-in-fighting-poverty\/\" target=\"_blank\">ONE Campaign<\/a>, Dr. Walter Bradley&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/homepages.baylor.edu\/baylorproud\/2009\/01\/13\/researchers-plan-for-turning-coconuts-to-car-parts-benefits-those-in-need\/\" target=\"_blank\">coconut projects<\/a>, and of course <a href=\"http:\/\/homepages.baylor.edu\/baylorproud\/2009\/04\/09\/students-give-back-to-waco-community-through-steppin-out\/\" target=\"_blank\">Steppin&#8217; Out<\/a>. But that&#8217;s just the tip of the iceberg; there&#8217;s also <a href=\"http:\/\/www.baylor.edu\/student_life\/index.php?id=59038\" target=\"_blank\">Campus Kitchen<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wacotrib.com\/news\/content\/news\/stories\/2009\/02\/23\/02232009WACopentable.html\" target=\"_blank\">Open Table<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.baylor.edu\/elg\/index.php?id=62539\" target=\"_blank\">Global Poverty Engaged Learning Group<\/a> (ELG), plus community organizations that include many Baylor students as volunteers, groups like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.missionwaco.org\" target=\"_blank\">Mission Waco<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bgct.org\/texasbaptists\/Page.aspx?pid=5771\" target=\"_blank\">Texas Hunger Initiative<\/a>. Frankly, even that list doesn&#8217;t do the article (or the movement on campus justice); you really should read it for yourself.<\/p>\n<p>Multiple faculty members told the magazine that they have never before seen an energy like this on Baylor&#8217;s campus towards such an issue.
