Thanks to a partnership with McLane Children&#8217;s Scott &amp; White, the BARC and two other Baylor clinics <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wacotrib.com\/news\/higher_education\/baylor-scott-white-unveil-new-developmental-disabilities-treatment-center\/article_b6a57eeb-c56d-5420-b64a-cf40763e10ba.html\" target=\"_blank\">now have a new home<\/a> in the heart of the Waco community.<\/p>\n<p>Baylor President Ken Starr, Scott &amp; White Healthcare board chair Drayton McLane Jr., BBA &#8217;58, and other VIPs were on hand earlier this week to celebrate the opening of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.baylor.edu\/bcdd\/index.php?id=860050\" target=\"_blank\">Baylor Center for Developmental Disabilities<\/a>. [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/media\/set\/?set=a.10152350625711926.1073741958.61388081925&amp;type=3\" target=\"_blank\">See photos here<\/a>.] The new center combines the support of a major healthcare system with the university&#8217;s educational and health services programs to assist local children and their families.<\/p>\n<p>Three clinics are housed together in the new facility:\u00a0the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.baylor.edu\/soe\/index.php?id=66051\" target=\"_blank\">BARC<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.baylor.edu\/soe\/index.php?id=862853\" target=\"_blank\">Clinic for Assessment, Research and Education<\/a>\u00a0(CARE), and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.baylor.edu\/csd\/index.php?id=50589\" target=\"_blank\">Speech and Language Clinic<\/a>. While addressing complex issues facing families of children with development disabilities, the Center also serves as a training venue for Baylor students preparing for careers in related fields.
