• Get ahead — at a discount! — with Baylor’s ‘Summer of Discovery’ program

Discounted tuition, AND students can get ahead in their classes — maybe even graduate early? Sounds like a sure win.

This is Baylor’s “Summer of Discovery” program, launched earlier this month. The special program offers current students, incoming freshmen and even rising high school seniors a series of online summer course bundles, specially selected to support a wide variety of Baylor degree plans and majors (without having to worry about whether or not the credits will transfer from another school).

The courses will be taught across all three summer sessions — the May Minimester, Summer 1, and Summer 2 — and the discounts increase as the number of classes taken increases. Academic advisors can help students choose the best courses for their academic path. A quick breakdown:

    • Current students You can access courses through your regular advising and registration process, all while saving money, getting ahead academically, and perhaps even clearing space for that class or minor you’ve always wanted. Work toward your core curriculum requirements, or take special bundles designed by your school/college.
    • Incoming freshmen This is your chance to get a jump-start on your Baylor experience — at a discount! Your course bundles are designed to fit most first-year students’ needs, but academic advisors can help make sure you pick the classes that are right for you.
    • Rising H.S. seniors If you’re just finishing up your junior year, you’re in luck — this is open to you, too! Bonus: If you complete nine hours of course credit with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, you will jump to the front of the line for early admission to Baylor for the fall of 2021, AND receive a $1,000 scholarship toward your first year at Baylor!
