• Baylor named Carter BloodCare’s College of the Year

    Blood drive on campus

If you’re gonna be the best at something, “giving” is a good choice. Thanks to the generosity of so many Bears, Baylor University has been named Carter BloodCare’s 2017-18 College of the Year!

Last year, Baylor students, faculty and staff donated more than 1,000 units of blood — enough to save 3,000 lives. A major shout out goes to Alpha Phi Omega, the Multicultural Association of Prehealth Students, American Medical Student Association, Baylor Law School, and University Development, which combined to host almost 30 blood drives last year.

The partnership between Baylor and Carter BloodCare is of great benefit to the community, says Clinton McCoy of Carter BloodCare. Blood donated on campus stays within the community and makes up as much as 50% of the blood needed at Waco-area hospitals.

“We want to give Baylor the biggest opportunity to let their light shine,” McCoy says. “This is Baylor’s blood drive and community, and they have the chance to shine their light by donating to better the Waco community.”

    Sic ’em, Bears!
