For the 10th straight season (and the 13th time in 15 years), the Baylor Lady Bears are headed to the Sweet 16!

Head coach Kim Mulkey’s squad advanced (again) after defeating Grambling State, 96-46, and Michigan, 80-58, Friday and Sunday in the Ferrell Center. The Lady Bears are now 15-1 in NCAA tournament games in Waco — and that one loss came way back in 2002.

[HIGHLIGHTS: vs. Grambling || vs. Michigan]

A quick look back at the amazing postseason run head coach Kim Mulkey has compiled since coming to Baylor… Inheriting a team that had gone 7-20 the year before, the Lady Bears made the NCAA tournament (but lost in the first weekend) each of Mulkey’s first two seasons. Season three brought a WNIT runner-up finish; since then, the Lady Bears have made 15 straight NCAA tournaments, including 13 Sweet 16s, six Elite Eights, three Final Fours and two national titles (not to mention nine Big 12 regular season championships and nine conference tournament titles).

Next up for Baylor: 13th-ranked Oregon State, which just handed Tennessee its first-ever home NCAA tournament; the Lady Vols had been 57-0 before the Beavers’ 66-59 win on Sunday. Baylor vs. OSU is scheduled for Friday (6 p.m. CT, ESPN2); the winner of that game would likely advance to face No. 1 seed Louisville on Sunday.

    Sic ’em, Baylor women’s basketball!
