• #BearsOfBaylor — “That’s when she fell in love with Baylor.”

Mom: “We had a friend coming with her son, and they said, ‘You should go visit Baylor and some of the schools around there with us!’ We went to Baylor, TCU and SMU; we looked at all three, and that’s when she fell in love with Baylor. Then she came back, and she came back, and she came back. And we looked at universities all over cities around the country, and Baylor was always our number one choice.

“This is where I wanted her to go from the beginning… On paper, she was looking at TCU, but then you come and visit the campuses. I tell all of her friends, you have to come and visit the campuses. Once she was at Baylor, she felt like she was at home. We love the Bible verses on the floors of the gym, we liked the Christian atmosphere, so I fell in love with it for that. I knew she would be involved in her faith anywhere she went, so I was fine, but inside I was hoping she would go to Baylor.

“She’s been under our wings and our protection and our everything so far. Now she gets to go off and spread her wings and become her own young lady, her own young person.”

Student: “I’m adulting! I’m really excited to move in and start learning my way around everything. This is my fourth time here. I visited awhile ago and did a few camps here. I did Christian Leadership Camp last summer.

“I’m looking forward to the football games a lot, because I came from a school that didn’t really have that. I’m excited for the sense of community around the school, and how it’s such a college-based town. Just the environment, really.”
