#BearsOfBaylor — “Take advantage of your resources.”
“I feel like I’m really observant; I like observing people. When I was younger I saw a movie about a teen, his behavior was kind of drastic. It was about a counsellor. I think it was called The Grace Card. It had to do with a counselor helping this teen get through his issues. Ever since then, I’ve thought about being a counselor.”
[What advice do you have for incoming freshmen?]
“To take advantage of your resources. A big thing for me was having a mentor at the Success Center. I had a mentor that I met with weekly, we’d come up with study plans. We’d get all of my syllabuses together and make a big calendar with every single test for the entire semester; it was a big deal. It made a big difference in my grades; I went from a C to an A in one of my math classes. Go to the tutoring center and SI sessions.”
