“My grandma passed away almost five years ago, and I was very close to her. When someone would have a birthday, we would all sing ‘Happy Birthday,’ and at the end she would sing this sort of prayer. The last time that she sang that song was to my mom. [The tattoo is] the sound wave of her singing. It’s a reminder that she’s always with me.”
