• #BearsOfBaylor — “Oh dang, I have friends and a family here.”

“My favorite part [of Line Camp as a freshman] was probably Independence. … Walking through the archway was pretty awesome for me, because I was like, ‘Oh dang, I have friends and a family here.’ It was really cool. It was like all the generic stuff people say — ‘you have a community’ — but then it was very genuinely all those things people say, happened. It was very impressive. Independence was like a galvanizing moment, walking through and then seeing all of those people. It was really cool for me. It’s like, ‘This place has a history, and I’m a part of it now.'”

[As a senior working Line Camp, what’s your impression of this year’s freshman class?]
“I’ve done a shuttle service where I’m picking them up from the airport and bringing them to campus, and I’ve done a shuttle service where I’m taking them from campus to the airport. The difference between those two rides is hilarious. They’re very quiet and timid, some are unsure of themselves, but when I bring them back to the airport, they’re chatting with the people they met on campus. They’re always very excited about the upcoming year. … It’s exciting to see that they’re much more excited about the next year.”
