• #BearsOfBaylor — “To be really healed, people have to be really seen and really heard.”

“I’m a counselor because I like to be with people and I like to see people and let people know there are people who can see all of them — the good parts and the not-so-good parts. Once we were having a Bible study, and the pastor mentioned that every time someone got healed, it noted that Jesus saw them or He looked at them. And I was like, wow — to be really healed, people have to be really seen and really heard. That was powerful to me.

“I’m totally new to Baylor. I didn’t go here to undergrad — no connections here — and I just started here in July. I love working with college students… I think it’s cool to work at Baylor because the environment is a Christian environment. I have that support and strength from the people that I serve. But I also like the fact that I can offer a safe place for students who don’t necessarily agree with me. And a lot of students who aren’t Christians, who I don’t have the same views as them, aren’t used to sitting with people that can tolerate those views and see them, past that, and I think that’s cool to be able to do that.”
