    Baylor Bears on Netflix

Here at Baylor, campus is under a blanket of tranquility as students and professors are home for a well-deserved Christmas break. And while the time off around the holidays certainly means spending time with friends and family, the extra time (coupled with the often less-than-delightful weather) can also mean a lot of time huddled in the living room watching TV.

But when your DVR is empty, then what? Here’s a suggestion: Check out these seven movies and TV shows starring, written or directed by Baylor Bears — each of which is currently available on Netflix:

    * Arguing with Myself and Spark of Insanity feature comedian Jeff Dunham, BA ’86, and his grumpy old puppet, Walter.
    * The Double, a 2011 action movie about the mystery of a senator’s murder, was written and directed by prolific Baylor duo Derek Haas, BA ’92, MA ’95, and Michael Brandt, BBA ’91, MA ’94.
    * Drop Dead Diva, a six-season series about a vapid model who learns compassion and inner beauty after being reincarnated as a plus-size lawyer, stars Jackson Hurst, BBA ’99, as Grayson.
    * Fixer Upper, starring Chip (BBA ’98) and Joanna (BA ’01) Gaines, needs no explanation for any Wacoan or Baylor fan!
The Office stars Angela Kinsey, BA ’93, as the cold-shouldered, cat-loving Angela Martin.
    * Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, the Oscar-winning ’90s movie starring Kevin Costner and Morgan Freeman, was directed by Kevin Reynolds, BA ’74, JD ’76.

(If that’s somehow not enough to keep you entertained until school/work resume, then check out this complete list of films and TV shows with strong Baylor connections. And if we’re missing something — either from the Netflix list above, or the longer list just linked — then let us know.)

    Sic ’em, Bears on Netflix!
