• #BearsOfBaylor — “I would love to work and be a professor here…”

“I want to be a professor… I didn’t decide to go to graduate school until December of my senior year. I was actually applying to jobs in corporate finance when I just thought, I do want to be a professor, why am I going to take time off and work for a few years and then go back? Why not just do it all at once (or try to)?

“I would love to work and be a professor here at Baylor, at Mary Hardin-Baylor, or at UT. Those are kind of the three dream schools. I just hope to stay in the area for as long as I can. It’s a laid-back atmosphere, yes, but I feel like there’s a lot of potential that’s becoming real. Places like Austin and Waco (that were often overlooked in the past for Houston or Dallas) are going to come into their own fruition. Whether it be because I-35 is getting bigger and there’s more people coming this way, or because simply corporations are moving here more and more because it’s a cheaper place for them to be. There’s just a lot of potential I feel, whether it be with weird art-based stuff — like Waco having a vibrant food-truck community — or through other corporate means, with Austin being the start-up leader of the world.”
