Diadeloso 2010: DiaNOW (Noise of Waco)
Continuing last year’s trend, Diadeloso 2010 — nicknamed “DiaNOW”, for Noise of Waco — combined the events and competitions from Diadelosos gone by with a music festival last Thursday featuring Baylor student performing artists, as well as regional and national acts headlined by Grammy Award-winner Colbie Caillat.
Many of the performers were artists on the Uproar Records label, launched at Baylor in 2008 as the nation’s first student-run music label. Senior Michelle Piland, junior David Dulcie, sophomore Brin Beaver, freshman Truett Seminary student Drew Greenway, and the group Zoo Studio all performed at Dia, and each is featured on Uproar Records Volume 2 (now available on iTunes and through AmazonMP3).
Despite some iffy weather, there were still the usual tug-of-war competitions, face painting booths and inflatable games; click here for a photo gallery from the day, then here for photos from the Lariat. Wish you could have made it out for Dia? Then consider meeting up with your fellow alumni at Diadeloso Texas, to be held June 5 at Sea World in San Antonio!
Sic ’em, Diadeloso participants!
