• Documentary on Children’s Medical in Dallas to feature Baylor alum

Children’s Medical Center in Dallas annually ranks among the best children’s hospitals in the nation, and if we’ve learned anything from shows like ER, it’s that there are stories to be told at every hospital. WFAA-TV (Channel 8) in Dallas will tell those stories in five 30-minute documentaries beginning this Wednesday — and one of the featured doctors will be a Baylor alum.

That’s Dr. Patricio Gargollo, Baylor class of 1996, you see at the 0:30 mark in the above video. Gargollo is director of minimally invasive and robotic surgery in pediatric urology at Children’s, where he has served for the past year. After graduating from Baylor with a degree in biology, Gargollo earned his master’s from Harvard Medical School, then did residencies at Massachusetts General Hospital and a fellowship at Children’s Hospital Boston before returning to Texas.

Gargollo’s wife, Laurie Hurd Gargollo, BA ’96, also appears in the documentary, which will air Aug. 3, 10, 17, 31 and Sept. 7 at 7:30 p.m. on WFAA in Dallas. I hear that the videos will also be archived online; we’ll share those on Twitter (@BaylorProud) when they become available.

    Sic ’em, Patricio and Laurie!
