Habitat finds a longtime home at Baylor
Habitat for Humanity was founded in Georgia in 1976; eleven years later, Baylor Habitat became the first Habitat Campus Chapter in the world. Today, there are nearly 500 campus chapters at U.S. high schools and colleges, and Baylor’s — the granddaddy of them all, so to speak — is still going strong.
Baylor Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter is a student organization that provides volunteers and helps raise funds to build homes with Waco Habitat for Humanity, a Christian housing ministry that builds homes in partnership with low-income families who then purchases the houses at cost and with no interest added to the loan.
Baylor photographer Robert Rogers joined a number of students in braving the cold earlier this month to continue work on a house near downtown Waco; see his photos here. Just another of the many ways Baylor students work with the Waco community to help those in need!
