Summer at Baylor means classes and camps — for all ages
Parking lots and garages are full. Penland is packed during the lunch hour. The workout machines, Ping-Pong tables, racquetball and basketball courts at the SLC are just as busy as ever. You’d think it was the middle of the fall or spring – but this is Summer at Baylor.
Many of those on campus are here to get ahead on their degrees, working to make sure they can graduate in four years. Baylor Summer students can take advantage of summer tuition discounts and unique activities offered around campus during the summer.
Others are still years away from making a college decision; these elementary through high school students are at Baylor for summer camps, working on skills ranging from football and volleyball to choir and debate. This summer, hundreds of students (future Bears?) are participating in programs such as these:
- Acrobatics and Tumbling Camps
- Band and Orchestra Camp (high school)
- Band and Orchestra Camp (middle school)
- Scott Drew Basketball Camps
- Kim Mulkey Basketball Camps
- All-State Choral Music Camp
- Baylor Cross Country Camp
- Baylor Debate Workshop
- Baylor Flute Seminar
- Art Briles Football Camps at Baylor
- Baylor Golf Academy Camps
- Summer Organ & Piano Institutes
- Renaissance Scholars (pre-health)
- Baylor Soccer Camp
- Glenn Moore Softball Camps
- Matt Knoll Tennis Camp
- University for Young People (gifted/talented)
- Baylor Volleyball Camp
Some of these camps are still accepting applications; others are good to remember for next year. And you thought campus was dead during the summer!
Sic ’em, Baylor summer camps!
